Umar is a mission-driven strategist, educator, and social entrepreneur with experience across seven countries in Africa, Asia, and North America. Founder of UGP, he delivers transformative solutions in education, inclusive economic development, and strategic partnerships. A UNESCO Fellow and Aga Khan Foundation Scholar, Umar holds a Master’s in International Development and Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University as a MEXT Scholar. He has led public engagement for Mozambique at Osaka Expo 2025, directed educational reforms in rural Mozambique, advised African youth entrepreneurs through the Anzisha Prize, and coordinated global networks for Penn GSE. Fluent in Portuguese and English, and conversational in Japanese and Spanish, Umar bridges local realities with global opportunities, partnering with governments, NGOs, and businesses to design systems that empower communities to thrive.
